The Jardin de Balata, a tropical jewel

3 min read

Nestled on the heights of the Route de la Trace, the Jardin de Balata brings together thousands of tropical species around a traditional Creole house. A concentrate of West Indian flora less than twenty minutes from the capital.

A garden of passion

Created by horticulturist Jean-Philippe Thoze, the garden showcases palms, heliconias, bromeliads and exotic flowers in lush vegetation frequented by hummingbirds.

Suspension bridges and panoramas

Suspended walkways let you stroll through the treetops, offering a unique view over the canopy and, on a clear day, over the surrounding peaks.
